EMBRACING SUSTAINABILITY: NEW POOL COVERS AT PERSHORE AND EVESHAM LEISURE CENTRES

In our ongoing commitment to creating a greener and more sustainable future, we are thrilled to announce the installation of new pool covers at Pershore and Evesham Leisure Centres. These brand-new additions will enhance the swimming experience for our customers. They will also contribute significantly to our mission of becoming an environmentally friendly company. Read on to discover the numerous benefits of these pool covers and how they align with our greener vision.

1.      ENERGY EFFICIENCY

One of the main advantages to our new pool covers is their remarkable energy efficiency. By keeping the pool water insulated and reducing heat loss, these covers significantly minimise the need for excessive heating. As a result, we can significantly reduce energy consumption and, in turn, decrease our carbon footprint. The covers act as a barrier against evaporation, preventing heat loss and evaporation by up to 95%. This means we are able to maintain the water temperature more effectively, saving energy and reducing our impact on the environment.

2.      WATER CONSERVATION

It is no secret that water scarcity is a global concern. And responsible water usage is vital in tackling this issue. The pool covers will play an important role in water conservation efforts. By reducing evaporation rates, they help preserve precious water resources. Evaporation can account for a significant amount of water loss, particularly in warmer climates or during extended operating hours. With the new covers, we can minimise water loss, conserve this valuable resource, and contribute to a sustainable water management strategy.

3.      IMPROVED AIR QUALITY

Maintaining good air quality within our leisure centres is important for the health and well-being of our visitors. The pool covers will act as a physical barrier, preventing the accumulation of harmful substances such as chloramines in the air. Quick science lesson - Chloramines are a result of the chemical reaction between Chlorine and organic matter, which can lead to unpleasant odours and respiratory irritations. By reducing the release of these substances, the pool covers will help to create a cleaner and healthier environment for our visitors, and for our staff.

4.      EXTENDED LIFESPAN OF POOL CHEMICALS

Proper pool maintenance relies on the careful balance of chemicals, to ensure water safety and clarity. However, exposure to sunlight can accelerate the breakdown of these chemicals. The installation of pool covers will provide protection against harmful UV rays, extending the lifespan of the pool chemicals. This will not only reduce the frequency of needing to add chemicals, but also will minimise the amount of chemicals released into the environment. By promoting responsible chemical usage, we’re taking significant steps towards creating a more eco-friendly swimming experience.

5.      ENHANCED SAFETY

Apart from their eco-friendly attributes, our new pool covers will offer additional benefits in terms of safety. By covering the pools when they’re not in use, the risk of accidents, especially involving young children, is greatly reduced. Also, the covers act as a physical barrier, preventing debris such as leaves, insects, and dust from entering the pools. This reduces the need for frequent cleaning and maintenance.

The installation of new pool covers at Pershore and Evesham Leisure Centres reflects our ongoing commitment to embracing sustainability and minimising our environmental impact. These covers not only promote energy efficiency and save water, but they also improve the air quality, extend the lifespan of pool chemicals, and improve safety measures. By introducing these eco-friendly measures into our centres, we aim to inspire others and play our part in creating a greener and more sustainable future.

We’d like to invite you to experience the difference firsthand and join us in this exciting journey towards a more environmentally friendly leisure industry. Together, we can make a positive impact and create a healthier and more sustainable world for generations to come.
